February 13th, 2009

If you currently reside in the Philadelphia area, you're in luck! Today, Friday the 13th, is the kick-off day for their Zombidelphia Month. What a name! (I'd almost move to Philly just so I can use 'Zombidelphia'.) The Plays & Players Theater in Center City will commemorate the 510th anniversary of the zombie plague in England. (This really happened? Whah?). There will be a month of zombie related festivities, beginning with a free zombie makeup workshop tonight. Zombie pub crawls, brain feasting, and live shows give a whole new meaning to their Valentine's Day.
Zombie Attack signs seem to be popping up all over the world right now. Hackers have been infiltrating road signs, directing traffic in a whole new light. The last one I heard about was in Austin, Texas. Now there's one in Canada. Sounds fun!
Watch out for that Boomer! Valve just announced that Left 4 Dead will be getting some nifty new DLC soon. It includes a new game type, Survival mode, as well as two new versus scenarios. The new Survival mode will see "up to four players set records for the longest time surviving hordes of zombies on over 12 maps," according to GameTrailers. Valve also hints at four new bosses and even a flamethrower. The best part about it? It's 100% free! Big yay on that one. I feel it will be a solid addition, but I can't help but wish that one day we will get a new map not originally shipped with the game. Regardless, it will be a wicked add on. And for those of you who strictly PS3 it, there's a rumour out there that the game will be coming to the console this summer. I think it would do very well, if the graphics are going to be worth it and they do a decent job of transferring this time. I'd hate for it to turn out to be a bad port with multiple glitches. And no DLC. Come on playstation, what's up with that!? Don't even get me started on Fallout 3.
Do you know what's even more frightening than a Nazi? A Nazi Zombie. If you haven't yet played through the zombie mode on Call of Duty: World at War, then you're missing out. Fix your windows, build your walls, run up the stairs and watch your back! In this mode, one zombie bite and you're pretty much OUT. Although, I guess that's how it works in the movies too, huh. Anywho, this game is also getting some new DLC. The content features four new maps, one of which is a zombie infested insane asylum. Exciting, right?
That's all for now folks. Next Friday: A discussion on the new Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. How can you not want to see this film?!

I really hope Left 4 Dead comes to the PS3! I <3 zombies, and they're always fun. ;)
I do too! I think it should, in all fairness. After all, the Wii got Dead Rising! Let's get some playstation zombie love already! =p
