Zombie Pic Thursday:
I HAVE to see this movie. I mean, come on! I've heard of it before, but I never actually looked it up until recently. It's gotta be hilariously great. Look at the tagline!
Anywho...I don't know if anyone is aware of this yet...but there will be FOUR comic book movies in the theater at the same time. FOUR. Four! Wow, four is kind of a weird word when you repeat it like that. Almost looks like sour...so then I kind of want to say f-our. But anyways. As I was saying. FOUR comic book movies in the theater at once!!! *Squee!* Add to that a side helping of Indianna Jones and a lot of other amazing movies and we might possibly have the best theater line-up (?) in the history of line-ups. Amazing. What's even more amazing is the fact that I'm so excited about this. Oh, the little things! Anywho, I'm hoping that we can make it to the midnight showing of Hellboy tonight. It all depends on a few things that I'm sure will be taken care of.
What sucks right now is the fact that my work has gotten more strict about the Internet, so accessing blogger and blog-related websites has been a bit of a challenge for me. Stupid blocked websites! Grrrr!
My 4th of July was fun and very HOT. It will probably have been the hottest 4th of July I've ever had. Think 105 degree weather with NO AC. Bleh. It was still a fun night despite the fact that I was melting, and didn't stop me from downing deliciously handmade hamburgers my friend Katie made for all of us. The days that followed were rough though, and things are still a bit stressed right now. My boyfriend is very stressed and going through alot, so it weighs on me too. Sometimes I am too empathetic and feel the exact same amounts of stress and emotion he is going through, which is not good for either of us. One of us has to stay sane!
I've been in a creative zone for the past few days and have worked on a couple of things. I made this painting/collage (it's a little blurry though-I left my good camera at a friends! ):
It goes with my apartment theme very nicely. It being red and black of course. Then I drew some sketches and scanned them in to color digitally. I've done lots of work with photoshop and stuff before (well of COURSE, its my J-O-B!) But I don't really do much coloring on the computer, because I'm so keen on prismacolors and paint. But I did...I held off the urge, and digitally colored. Be nice, it was almost my first time:
(credit for zombie girl: Jc originally sketched it, and I touched it up, inked and then colored it)and my Buffy tribute:
This one's all me. Well, there you go! Happy thursday! Happy hellboy 2 comes out at midnight day! Happy ONE WEEK UNTIL THE DARK KNIGHT comes out day! =D

Cute Buffy!!
At the rate things are going, as CGI gets cheaper and cheaper, my theory is that in the future, 90% of movies and TV shows will be based on comic books.
It will happen in the same way that movies become Broadway musicals, then become movies based on the musical (like "The Producers" or "Hairspray").
So for instance, one day NBC will decide to leverage the success of the "Heroes" TV/comics tie-in by creating "Super-Friends" -- a comic book version of their hit sitcom, in which the friends all have superpowers. Joey can eat his way through anything. Monica can become fat at will. Chandler can deliver deadly verbal barbs that knock a man out. And so on. The comic book will catch on, and a few years later, they'll make a movie of it. Soon after that, NBC will realize it's much cheaper just to make comic books, and will stop making TV shows entirely. The rest of the industry will follow suit, and next thing you know, all movies are comic book movies.
That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
